Join us on Zoom as Robert Nicastro considers Teilhard’s response to this question: What if the terror we feel about artificial intelligence is not paranoia but prophecy? Drawing on Teilhard’s evolutionary mysticism and biblical theology, this presentation reframes our deepest fears about AI and technological disruption as evolution becoming conscious of itself through our awareness. The future is not predetermined but being co-created right now through our choices, and what we choose makes a difference to God. Teilhard revealed that love operates as the fundamental evolutionary force, but divine possibilities cannot be realized without human participation. As we externalize consciousness through artificial intelligence and build the planetary noosphere, we face an ultimate choice: will we guide this new thinking layer toward love and the flourishing of all life, or toward mechanization without spirit? The outcome is genuinely open. The stakes are absolute. Becoming fearless means transforming evolutionary terror into conscious participation in co-creating the future with God.
