The Jesuit geologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin sees this cosmic story as a great drama of awakening. For many Christians and other religious people, the scientific discovery that the universe is still coming into being is a mere curiosity at best. For Teilhard, however, the new cosmology shakes up everything—not only in science but also in theology. How so?
