Raimon Panikkar (1918-2010) was one of the world’s foremost figures in the theory and practice of dialogue across boundaries.
He was a member of the Advisory Council of the American Teilhard Association in the late 1960s. Where Teilhard envisions a world “converging” along a single path to Omega, Panikkar helps us envision how the many “paths” can become One by encountering one another in the richest depths of their differences.
Ernie Tamminga, a member of ATA’s board, was for five years a member of Panikkar’s graduate seminar at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In the 1970s he was a member of the board and the presentation team of The Phenomenon of Man Project.
